Nineteen days after her abduction, the family of Prophetess Iyabo Asubiojo, Secretary to the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, is pleading for urgent intervention as she remains in captivity despite a ransom payment.

Prophetess Asubiojo was kidnapped alongside her husband, Prophet Michael Asubiojo, on October 25, 2025, along the Egbe–Eruku Road. The family says the abductors demanded and collected a ₦10 million ransom — yet released only her husband.

“My mother-in-law is still with them. She hasn’t been released since October 25. After collecting ₦10 million, they freed only my father-in-law. The chairman has been silent, and we don’t know what else to do. We are appealing for help,” a relative told Okun Reporters.

A corroborating update from Egbe Mekun Parrot, shared by Olusegun Iselaiye, confirmed the release of Prophet Michael while noting that Prophetess Iyabo remains in captivity. Security sources reportedly stated that rescue efforts are still underway.

The family is calling on the Kogi State Government, the Yagba East Local Government authorities, and all relevant security agencies to intensify efforts toward securing her safe and immediate return.
