Nine bags of suspected Indian hemp, 101 wraps of Canadian Loud recovered from Academy area hideout.
Ibadan, Oyo State – The Oyo State Police Command has intercepted a significant stockpile of suspected illicit drugs in the Academy area of Olomi, Ibadan, following credible intelligence provided by a strategic partner.
Acting on a tip-off, detectives raided an apartment along Abanise Street, Olomi, where one Oluwadamilare Adedayo was alleged to have stored large quantities of banned substances.
During the search, operatives recovered:
· Nine (9) bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp
· One hundred and one (101) wraps of suspected Canadian Loud
· Other hard and illicit drugs
The exhibits were secured, and a suspected drug distribution network in the area has been disrupted.
The suspect was not present at the time of the operation. On the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, a coordinated manhunt and surveillance have been launched to apprehend him.
CP Haruna commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for strategic leadership and also praised the collaboration between the Police, sister security agencies, and community stakeholders whose intelligence made the operation successful.
The Command reiterated its commitment to intelligence-led policing and urged the public to continue providing timely information to aid crime prevention.
