Kogi Government Announces School Resumption for February 23

Ministry of Education directs all primary, secondary schools to reopen as academic activities resume.


Lokoja, Kogi State – The Kogi State Ministry of Education has officially directed all primary and secondary schools across the state to resume academic activities on Monday, February 23, 2026.

In a notice issued by the ministry, school administrators, teachers, students, and parents are advised to take note of the resumption date and ensure all necessary preparations are in place ahead of the new academic term.

The directive applies to both public and private schools, and the ministry has urged school authorities to ensure that academic activities commence promptly and in an orderly manner on the scheduled date.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to facilitate their children’s return to school on time to avoid any disruption to the academic calendar and ensure a smooth transition into the new term.

Officials stated that the resumption marks the continuation of the state’s broader educational programs aimed at strengthening learning outcomes and maintaining discipline within the school system.

The ministry further noted that additional updates regarding the academic calendar and other school activities will be communicated through appropriate channels.
