Further Update on Online and In-Person Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is pleased to provide the latest update on the ongoing nationwide voter registration exercise.

Online Pre-Registration

As of Sunday, 14th September 2025, a total of 4,445,505 Nigerians have pre-registered online in the four weeks since the commencement of the exercise on 18th August 2025.

  • Gender Breakdown:
    • Male: 2,141,294 (48.17%)
    • Female: 2,304,211 (51.83%)
  • Age & Occupation:
    • Youth (18–34 years): 2,924,643 (65.79%)
    • Students: 1,112,344 (25.02%)

Completed Registration

As of Friday, 12th September 2025, the combined total of completed registrations (online pre-registration + physical/in-person registration) stands at 509,929.

  • Gender Breakdown:
    • Male: 229,758 (45.06%)
    • Female: 280,171 (54.94%)
  • Age & Occupation:
    • Youth (18–34 years): 378,132 (74.15%)
    • Students: 196,529 (38.54%)

The detailed state-by-state breakdown of online and completed registrations—by gender, age, occupation, and disability—has been published on the Commission’s website and other official platforms for public access.

Ward-Level Registration in the FCT

As earlier announced, the online voter pre-registration in the FCT ends today, Monday, 15th September 2025.

  • For the next two weeks, registration will be conducted in person at designated centres.
  • From 29th September to 8th October 2025, the Commission will devolve registration to all 62 wards in the FCT.
  • Detailed addresses of these ward-level centres are available on INEC’s official platforms.
