The Katsina State Scholarship Board is delighted to announce another landmark achievement under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON.
His Excellency has approved ₦372,051,176.00 as bursary support for 24,452 continuing students across the state.
This intervention reflects the Governor’s unwavering commitment to human capital development and his firm belief that education is the foundation of peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth.
Since the inception of this administration, the State Government has consistently prioritized student welfare through massive bursary disbursements:
- ₦637,924,516.00 – 47,935 students (2020/2021 fresh & 2021/2022 continuing).
- ₦544,207,748.00 – 37,802 students (2021/2022 fresh & 2022/2023 continuing).
- ₦744,102,352.00 – 50,438 students (2022/2023 fresh & 2023/2024 continuing).
Looking ahead, approvals are also in progress for the 2024/2025 local scholarships covering 12,609 fresh students, alongside the Katsina State Government Award of Academic Excellence and the Special Scholarship Scheme for Students with Special Needs. These will be unveiled during the upcoming official flag-off ceremony.
With this latest approval, the total number of beneficiaries has reached 174,461 students — a record-breaking milestone that positions Katsina State as a national leader in educational empowerment.
Beyond local interventions, Governor Radda has expanded opportunities globally by sponsoring students from all 34 LGAs to pursue specialized programs abroad, including:
- Artificial Intelligence – Xi’an Shiyou University, China.
- Bioengineering – Xuzhou University of Technology, China.
- MBBS (Medicine & Surgery) – Nahda University, Beni Suef, Egypt.
These initiatives demonstrate that Katsina State is not only keeping pace, but setting the standard in advancing education and shaping a knowledge-driven future.
