Jos, Plateau State – The University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) Global has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its alma mater by donating ICT equipment to the Registrar’s Office as part of activities marking the University’s Golden Jubilee.
The donation, which included two laptops and a desktop computer, was made courtesy of Chief Peter Owoeye and formally presented by Hon. Beni Lar and Professor Dimis Mai-Lafia, a former UJAA President.
A Symbol of Alumni Commitment
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Lar described the gesture as more than just a gift, but a reaffirmation of alumni dedication to the university’s modernization.
“Equipping the Registrar’s Office with modern ICT facilities will enhance efficiency, streamline services, and contribute to the University’s digital transformation drive,” she said.
Prof. Mai-Lafia echoed the sentiment, stressing that alumni involvement remains a vital pillar in UNIJOS’ growth.
“This gesture, though symbolic, represents the enduring love we have for UNIJOS. We hope it inspires more Josites to remember that giving back is the true hallmark of leadership and progress,” he noted.
Boosting Efficiency in University Administration
The Registrar’s Office, central to the daily operations of the University, is expected to benefit significantly from the equipment. Staff will now be better equipped to deliver faster and more effective services to students and the wider academic community.

Dr. Gad Peter Shamaki, Global President of UJAA, emphasized that the association remains a dependable partner in driving infrastructural development and student support initiatives.
“Our association will continue to forge meaningful partnerships and channel resources that will benefit generations of Josites to come,” he stated.
He noted that the Golden Jubilee is not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity for alumni to redouble their efforts in building a stronger institution.
