Benin City, Nigeria – Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has strongly denied the authenticity of a widely circulated video clip that appears to show him massaging a woman’s feet aboard a private jet, labelling it a product of artificial intelligence (AI) manipulation.
The short video, which spread rapidly across social media platforms including X, Instagram and WhatsApp, depicted the senator seated opposite a woman identified by some online users as a South African influencer, with her feet on his lap as he seemed to perform a foot massage. The backdrop suggested a luxury aircraft interior.
The clip ignited a firestorm of mixed reactions, with many Nigerians criticising the senator’s alleged conduct and lifestyle, while others debated issues of privacy and the dangers of digital misinformation.
In a response issued on Wednesday, Senator Oshiomhole firmly dismissed the footage as fraudulent. He insisted the video was fabricated using AI technology and was deliberately created to damage his reputation and mislead the public.
He described the clip as a stark example of modern digital manipulation and urged the public to exercise caution and critical judgment before believing or sharing unverified content online.
“The video is completely false and generated by artificial intelligence,” the senator stated. “It is a malicious attempt to smear my character, and I urge Nigerians to disregard it.”
The incident highlights growing concerns over the use of deepfake technology and AI-generated content in shaping political narratives and public perception in Nigeria.
